Untitled (Pregnancy)

Untitled (Pregnancy)
takes a fake condition as a real art project. In this work I make use of a pregnancy simulation and channel its artistic implications and resonance through a wearable art object. This project sets an interplay between reality and its construction.
Having an artistic background that deals with the body as a complex container whose wrapping surface is more than often deceiving, I now install this wearable art-piece over my own belly to create a relationship between art materiality, performance and the daily life.
Apparently a nonsensical lunacy, this long term project raises a set of complex issues that range from the preconceptions about women artists' work and the artist and object status, to the production, reception and circulation of the work of art in a world exhausted by a constant exposure to media harassment.
